Log 7: 4-3-2025
Flight 7 took off a little slower than usual. We sat around a bit, just being together. There was quiet chatter between a few, some drawing in sketchbooks and the always present sound of Ollies and Kickflips being practiced by another. This was a good opportunity for the Instigator to just observe and wait. When the group decided we knew what some wanted to do, and others were comfortable going with the flow - we flowed for about a mile around construction and across the 1st street bridge at a pace that made sense for us all. We have all come to agreements on how to move at our preferred pace and also stay with our group. Stopping at lights, for example or taking breaks as needed.
We walked and talked, taking notice of the humidity and how it was effecting us all. We needed air-conditioning. The day then became solely about meeting everyone’s lunch needs and getting INSIDE.
While we were out in the city, we experienced new interactions with people that brought up conversations about personal comfort and safety - this was an opportunity for our group to discuss how to communicate our feelings with one another about how we shift settings quickly together in these rare cases where we feel unsafe. For the rest of our time together, we opted for a slower afternoon of telling personal lore, lounging on soft chairs and playing board games indoors at our local library and planned how we wanted to spend our NEXT flight… stay tuned for log 8
